Twitter post

When it comes to Twitter, I had a hard time to be active with Twitter. I am not much of a social media person. I honestly get really nervous communicating with new people. At first, I would see some stuff I would like especially when it came to dual language or  ELL students but instead of commenting I would probably just retweet and like it. I did recently do my first Twitter chat, that I was very nervous to do. I did to a certain point have anxiety but after we started talking, I started answering questions and they weren't difficult. I was able to communicate with people outside of my job about ELL students. This was very refreshing to learn from other people. I was talking to principals and teachers, who had experience and have very similar beliefs to myself. I was able to show them what I have also learned these past years as a teacher's assistant.  Everyone in the chat was very pleasant. They made my first Twitter chat go very smoothly And it encouraged me to be part of more chats. When it comes to using twitter to further my education, I can see it very beneficial. One of my most personal exciting moment was when I started following teaching for biliteracy. The book teaching for biliteracy was created by Karen Beeman and Cheryl Urow. This is a book I really enjoy as an educator to read. They really emphasize the bridging in between the two languages. In a sense, they are some of my educational role models. To be able to follow a page based on their book is a great resource to have. After my Twitter chat I did see a lot of benefits to Twitter. It might be something that I will get used to to further my PLN.
