My view with Tech in Class

Formative assessment are a great way to stop in the middle of a unit to see if anything needs to be reviewed before it is too late. Much of the time when a student is struggling, it would be better for the teacher to work with the student right away in order for that student to be able to move forward. A pre-assessment would give the teacher a clue on to their background knowledge. This way a teacher will know ahead of time, how to adjust the curriculum to the needs of the classroom. Formative assessment can be done individually and count as a grade or done in a group. When in a group, the teacher can observe students and their social skills. These formative assessments are a great tool for their social- emotional.  A formative assessment can also be done in a fun way, so the students will not feel the pressure of a test. When it comes to Twitter, I had a hard time to be active with Twitter. I am not much of a social media person. I honestly get really nervous communicating with new people. At first, I would see some stuff I would like especially when it came to dual language or  ELL students but instead of commenting I would probably just retweet and like it. I did recently do my first Twitter chat, that I was very nervous to do. I did to a certain point have anxiety but after we started talking, I started answering questions and they weren't difficult. I was able to communicate with people outside of my job about ELL students. This was very refreshing to learn from other people. I was talking to principals and teachers, who had experience and have very similar beliefs to myself. I was able to show them what I have also learned these past years as a teacher's assistant.  Everyone in the chat was very pleasant. When it comes to the classroom instruction, I believe students learn best hands on. Students learn differently and if they are able to participate in class, they will be able to learn. I found the flipped classroom concept is very interesting. I can see many benefits of the flipped classroom. The students will come in with questions and discussion points. The  only downside with this concept will be that if students do not see the videos at home. Realistically, many students do not have much support at home. The school would have to provide many of the students the laptops and maybe even a location where students would be able to have access to the internet. Either way the students will in a sense will lead the class, this goes well with the Constructive classroom. The students in a constructive classroom are able to engage in discussion, not just with teachers but with each other. When it comes to Google Classroom. I believe this is a great and effective way for the snow days, especially now that many school districts are trying to avoid having to make up snow days in the summer. A teacher will be able to still have class and communicate directly to the students from their comfort of their own home. After talking to my son, he states that Google Classroom has comes in handy when he has questions.  He is able to communicate with teachers and peers and get answers quickly when he is at home. The only downside he stated, is that some teachers would not really update the Google Classroom. With anything online the only way this can be effective is by constant updating.Google Classroom can be a great way to start the Digital Storytelling. When it comes to the material this week, I really liked the google sheets translate and how easy it is to use. I personally do use a lot of google translate, I work for a Dual-Language program, The only thing I get very weary about is that Google likes to do a literal translation of the words and not words that will actually make sense in the language. For instance when you put "Open House" for a school it translates to "Casa Abrieta"which literally means an opened house. I can see Google sheets being able to help older students. When it comes to the voice commands, I can see this benefiting my students a lot. A lot of my students have problems with vocabulary, many times they know what they want to say but in spanish, I feel that the programs will be able to understand my students in the language that they choose.           The one thing that stood out the most was the various use of technology for personal educational growth. Many of the social medias can be used to communicate with people who may be struggling with the same questions you have of the subject you are teaching. You are able to learn and put in practice many new things in class.
