Week 3

When it comes to Google Classroom. I believe this is a great and effective way for the snow days, especially now that many school districts are trying to avoid having to make up snow days in the summer. A teacher will be able to still have class and communicate directly to the students from their comfort of their own home. After talking to my son, he states that Google Classroom has comes in handy when he has questions.  He is able to communicate with teachers and peers and get answers quickly when he is at home. The only downside he stated, is that some teachers would not really update the Google Classroom. With anything online the only way this can be effective is by constant updating.Google Classroom can be a great way to start the Digital Storytelling. Digital storytelling is a fun and creative way for students to learn. If the students create their own digital story, they will be able to connect themselves with a subject. This will make certain subjects more personal and they will be able to understand the material. According to the article Digital Storytelling Across the Curriculum "By “living in the story”, we make information come emotionally alive. By exploring "lessons learned," we go beyond telling about content to find its deeper meaning." I know currently for this class, we do have to create our own Digital Story. I believe this will create a challenge for myself but it will be a fun and creative way for me to express myself. I do believe if I do  ever get a group of kids that are old enough, I would love to incorporate this in my classroom. Storytelling can help people use their imaginations. It will be a great tool to start activating certain parts of the brain.
